My parents filled our home with classical music, opera, and an abundance of artwork checked out from the public library. I fell in love with Impressionism, and posters of these paintings covered the walls of my bedroom instead of the popular pop stars.
After my parents separated all this came to an abrupt halt.
Fast forward 50 years, having been a gymnastics coach and judge, a school teacher, and raising three sons as a widow, I decided to transition my crafting into painting. Because of Covid, I had access to multiple painting videos, and something to occupy my mind and time during quarantine. Now my days are filled with watching videos, looking at paintings online, visiting art exhibits, painting both plein air and in studio, and most beneficially observing my surroundings in a whole new way. I see beauty in lights, darks, shapes, lines, and forms no matter how small or insignificant.
I enjoy my walks, drives, and travels even more.
I hope to share these through my oil and acrylic painting.
