Growing up in the small town of Parsons, TN, Amy's creativity showed up at an early age when her Mother taught her to sew. She pursued this love of design and fashion through a degree in Art and Fashion at The University of Memphis. Soon after, she married and moved back to her hometown, had a two beautiful daughters, and settled into a job at a local bank for almost 30 years. Working and raising a family, she expressed her creativity through home decorating and design, sewing dance costumes and her daughters, and taking a few painting classes along the way.
Amy has always felt the need to create and learn, and to share her skills and knowledge with others. She returned to college later in life, this time to finish a degree in Education, graduating from The University of Tennessee Martin the same day her youngest daughter graduated. During her years of teaching Middle School, she was also able to share her love of Art with many young students. Married for over 40 years to Don, a very skilled home builder, they worked together to design and build lots of beautiful homes. They also raised two creative daughters. Rachel is an Art teacher in Lakeland, TN and Katie is a dancer and coach in Mt. Juliet, TN and at MTSU.
Over the past few years, painting has become the creative outlet Amy has longed for and needed most of her life. Now retired, she enjoys spending time with her family at their River house, traveling in search of beautiful subjects to paint, but most days are spent in her art studio, nestled in the woods of Western Tennessee.
